Easy 7 Ingredient Bagels

Like many of you, I am trying to think of ways to keep my kiddos entertained during this pandemic. Cooking is something we all enjoy, and Rob reaps the benefits! Here is a super simple bagel recipe that requires no boiling, no yeast, and no rise time! We made these in about 45 minutes, but you could do them quicker without a 2 and 4 year old. :) We were shocked at how incredibly yummy they were! Chewy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Enjoy!

Ingredients (Makes 6 Bagels)

  • 2 Cups Flour (All Purpose)

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon table salt

  • 1.5 Cups Plain Greek Yogurt

  • 1 Egg (beaten)

  • Trader Joes Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F

  2. In stand mixer using the dough hook combine baking powder, table salt, and flour.

  3. Add Greek Yogurt. I used 2% Fage.

  4. Combine on low to medium speed for about 4 minutes.

  5. Remove from mixer and knead on lightly floured surface.

  6. Divide into 6 equal portions. Roll into tube shape (about 7 inches) and create a bagel shape. Place onto baking sheet. We used a silicone liner to prevent sticking.

  7. Use basting brush to coat with egg wash. The kiddos loved “painting” the bagels.

  8. Top with Kosher Salt, Everything But The Bagel Seasoning, or your seasoning of choice.

  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden.

  10. Enjoy with your favorite cream cheese or spread!
